App Reviews

  • Used to work, now it doesn’t.

I was enjoying the app and its integration with the Orbi, but since the last update, it no longer works when the Orbi is in AP mode. It was always in AP mode and used to work until yesterday. I can’t run my Orbi in Router mode so I guess I won’t be using Circle. Bummer.
  • Easy for teen to get around restrictions

    By Cielle92
Easy to use, easy to set up BUT my teen was able to use a VPN in order to get around all the limits I set up. It did block a few websites, but allowed him access to a VPN which he wasn’t supposed to be able to access. Cancelled subscription and removed app.
  • $4.99 a month?

    By W. DC Music Junkie
I can not say this rating is fair, but thought informing others would be useful. I have a Netgear router that I just updated and they offered “Circle with Disney”. As with most parents, I would like some more help with my kids screen time and this looked to be it. Long story short (ish) they offer two ways to use it. Basic, and Premium. The basic offers features already offered on most routers like monitoring traffic, or pausing the internet (there was a 3rd option in basic but I don’t recall what it was, just that it was already offered on my router). The premium offers all the good stuff ... for $4.99 a month. I wasn’t looking for another money drain so I deleted the app and asked to have my accnt deleted. It might be a great app, just not worth $4.99 to me.
  • Works like no other

This product works great for our family. I see other reviews of low stars and most are config issues. I found thiis to be very easy to install, it has not conflicted with any apps or services and its working great for our 11 yr old daughter. She's learning to be conscious of her time online, respect (albeit grudginly) the time limits and works for 'extra time'. Eases my worries and concerns. I'm in the cybersecurity business and I've looked at other services, this one is simple, basic and practical. I could easily get a firewall, content filter, etc. and make it 'enterprise', but this is my home and I just want to ensure my child is safe with responsible 'screen time'.

  • Excellent at keeping my kid honest and safe online

    By Pookiebear04
This is working great and keeping my sneaky 10 year old honest about what she’s doing. I homeschool her so this helps by letting me see that she’s on the sites she’s supposed to be on for the amount of time needed and not off playing games. I also love that I can give her rewards through chore monster and I can use Alexa as well to remind her of her bedtime or screen off times.
  • Cool but no privacy

    By ChrisLLR2831
I think the adults on the app should be able to set their own password to access their circle and devices associated. I set this up for my cousin so she can monitor her daughters usage and if my cousin wanted to she could see everything I’m doing. Now, I’m gay and a man... think about it. I don’t need her seeing what I’m doing in my private time. So let’s be real here. Haha.
  • Why are mysterious ghost devices showing in the device list?

    By jaimeCLT
Update: so it seems that the Orbi router keeps a cache off every single device that has ever connected to it. Even devices that might have connected months and months ago show up in the list. The Circle app picks of this same list and shows it as devices to be managed. I guess this is OK but it is confusing. Probably something to add to directions. ———////——/ Great concept but very buggy and lagging software. Not sure if I would trust yet. It shows I have 27 devices on my network when I really have only 10. There are devices showing up even with names of people I don’t even know (Like ‘Joe’s iPad’) This is on netgear nerwork locked to the teeth (the router admin shows only what I know I have) - crazy,
  • Cool app but doesn’t work as advertised

    By Megazinehd
App is great, you can add all your family members and see who logs on and off when people visit. I like that you can freeze online for everyone. Here’s what I don’t like. The app doesn’t tell you how long someone is online for, so it’s actually unfair and cruel to put a limit on a child when their phones by default use data when not in use. Over night, our phones sometimes use data by certain apps like weather, email, internal computations etc.. So when we wake up, Circle would state everyone in my family used 2-3 hours overnight when we were actually sleeping. Going to delete after free trial. Hopefully Apple makes their own version.
