Messenger Kids App Description

A fun, free app that lets kids video call and message parent-approved family and friends from their iPad, iPod touch or iPhone. With Messenger Kids: Parents Have More Control • Parents fully control the contact list making it a safer, more controlled environment of just close friends and family. • Messages don't disappear and can't be hidden in case parents would like to check in. • There are no ads or in-app purchases, and the app is free to download. Kids Have More Fun • Kid-appropriate stickers, GIFs, frames and emojis help kids creatively express themselves. • One-on-one or group video calls come to life with fun, interactive masks. • The feature-filled camera lets kids create videos and decorate photos to share with loved ones. It's Easy to Use • Works on iPad, iPod touch and iPhone on the go or just using a Wi-Fi connection. No phone number is needed. • Parents and approved grown-ups can connect from their Messenger app wherever it's installed. Additional Information • Creating a Messenger Kids account for a child does not create a Facebook account for them. • Parents and guardians use their own Facebook accounts to authorize their kids' Messenger Kids accounts. • Parents control their child’s contact list and can remove contacts at any time. • Kids have the option to report or block contacts and report inappropriate content. If a child submits a report, their parent or guardian will be notified. • We're always working to improve Messenger Kids. If you'd like to share any feedback with us or for more information, visit

Love this app. Using it to practice typing sentences with my daughter. She loves to send me photos she takes too! I would like the ability to rename her contacts to the names she recognizes, such as Mommy, Grandma, Grandpa, etc. Thanks!

This is just my opinion , but you do not need to put your Facebook information on there .
  • Nice for my military kids

    By Heathergsmith
People reviewing this app with negativity because their opinion is that kids should only have physical contact with people are closed minded people. We are a military family and have had to say goodbye to so many friends, this app allows my kids a safe way to talk to them that I can control. Thank you.
  • I can't even set up

I haven't even gotten the app yet and there is an error code which does not let my parent sign in. I deleted it twice to see if it will work, but so far NO. I hope when if I can get in it will actually work.
  • Perfect

Great for interacting with my children while I'm out of town on business, I have Facebook and many other things restricted on the iPad and can't wait for the Amazon Fire HD release to come out to be able to download to their FreeTime tablets. Thank U!
  • Awesome!

This app is really neat. My daughter is almost 7 and enjoying it. The only thing I’d change would be the ability for a parent to rename contacts instead of just having their Facebook name. For example, changing a grandparents name to ‘Grandma’ in the app. Or changing a parents contact name to ‘Mommy’. Also, my daughter has an Amazon Fire Tablet which I would like for this app to be available on. Currently she’s using it on my iPhone.
