App Reviews

  • It’s out of tune!!

    By killamagillagorilla
The apps tuning does not line up with A440 turning. Meaning you can’t play along with the app with out sounding like hot garbage.
  • Out Of Pitch

    By Yabber37
I like everything about this app except the fact that it’s a half step ABOVE standard 440 pitch and in settings ; there is no allowance for PITCH ADJUSTMENT ..... fixing this flaw would get you that fifth star from me
  • Great app, but problems

    By Thegrey666
I used to use this app all the time, starting going back to it and discovered that the alternate tuning don't work. For instance I want to be in drop c tuning and use C minor scale, the fretboard will be blank.
  • Great but....

    By Emmettnaught0n
Great application, but it's annoying how the application will close after a small amount of time. I find that when I'm studying my scales the app closes on me. Its me it's quite frustrating. Other than that the application is great and very useful.
  • Beautiful Redesign... Finally!

    By jobjacker
Finally someone redesigns some music apps for iOS 8. It's beautiful and has finally been updated to support larger iPhones. I love that there is a choose button and that the up and down arrows have been moved to bottom making it easier for one-handed use. I also love having a play button.
  • Ugly - Would not Buy This Now

    By Renegade44shk
Ugly! Ugly! Ugly! Too much white! Makes it tough to look at for very long. No contrast. You successful leaped 20 years into the past!
  • Hate the new look

    By mendenheezy
The simple design looks cheap and uninspired. The previous version looked so much better.
  • Only works with standard tunning

    By Dydfeydyhgswyhfy
Occasionally it will show the desired scale in an open tuning but for one who mainly plays in drop b, waste I money.
  • Best choice for scales and modes

    By Mitch Florida
This by far the easiest, clearest app for guitar scales. I like Guitar Toolkit for chords but for scales this blows it away. Mainly because of the contrast of the notes overlaid on the fretboard. GTK has dark dots on a rosewood fretboard and Scale Wizard has nice yellow dots on maple making it much easier to see. The way they have the scales grouped is great too. Another plus is the landscape view which GTK doesn't have... Don't get me wrong, GTK is fantastic for tuning and chords but for scales, Scale Wizard is the way to go!
  • Incomplete

I bought this app to help me learn open tunings (as was advertised). I selected Open D, one of the most common tunings. All scales I select (blues, major, pentatonic) say "no available scales". It was just $1 but it isn't what I wanted or what was advertised.
