App Reviews

  • No ringtone when dialing out

    By laenn2000
It seems like Google is purposefully trying to scare away users from this app. Dialing numbers on the touchpad is annoying as hell as the touchpad tends to disappear in the middle of dialing the number, and there’s no ringtone when dialing out and waiting for the other party to pick up; just dead air.
  • Phone doesn’t work

Most of the functions work but when you dial a set of numbers, a different number is registered to call... so basically the call function works, you just can’t call who you want to.
  • Overall I hate it now.

    By luckiiedude
They simply got rid of the legacy website and those features as well. Now from my phone every time I make a call using google voice my outgoing call doesn’t even ring. It’s like I’m waiting on a collect call to go through. I might have to stop using the appreciate to make phone calls. I would give the score lower than that but obviously I can’t.

  • Needs More Features

App needs to have a ringtone option so that you can differentiate between your personal number & your google voice number. You should also be able to save business contacts.
  • Good, but needs work

I have been using this app for awhile now and the updates have been 50/50 and some are great and some aren't. Currently when I make phone calls I don't hear a ring and somebody just answers. Don't know why, but it used too ring when making phone calls. When I call from my number attached to my sim card it rings. Also, it is a little slow to work with as mentioned by others. I like the opportunity that this app provides, just needs more work.
  • Not working

I just downloaded the app but it's not working. It's freeze on the terms and conditions page. I have to quit the app and reopen to repeat the process but it's not responding
  • Very useful

    By beinuppity
I like that I can use this number and have my mobile and home phone ring at the same time. I also like the texting and transcribed voice mail. This is a great app, I use it all the time. I don't have the crashing issue that others seem to have, it has been very stable.
  • Can’t add contacts

Love the concept of google voice, but I can’t save contacts or text my friends who are in my contacts.
  • Won't work with Gboard GIFs

Google Voice vs Google Hangouts Desktop interface Google Voice’s Windows desktop interface is superior. It is more roomy and can search. The Hangouts Windows desktop interface is a small box without obvious search capability. Winner: Google Voice GIFs Google Voice on iOS won’t send GIFs. Google Hangouts on iOS will send GIFs. Winner: Google Hangouts Contacts interface Contacts interface, displaying name as you type is unclear with Google Hangouts. Different places within Google Hangouts will search but show different results. Some will show only Google Hangouts results but not the phone contacts' non-Google Hangouts contact info (no phone numbers). Some show Google Hangouts 411 and non-Google Voice contact info. With a single contact with multiple numbers, Google Hangouts won't show labels for different numbers (cell, home, work). Winner: Google Voice
