  • I’m Actually Learning!

I haven’t gotten very far into the app yet (I’m only in basics for Spanish) but so far I have actually learned how to pronounce and identify different words. I’m also getting better at learning the grammar of the language, such as la is for a singular feminine noun and el is for a singular masculine noun. Seeing as I just started I might see some flaws with it later but so far I am learning which is something I have never been able to do with a language before. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to learn a new language. So far it’s way better than flash cards trust me. ❤️

I really like using this to learn vocabulary, and test my knowledge of things I already know. I love the images and positive reinforcement. But as someone who is learning a language from scratch, I want more explanations. I want to be introduced to concepts and then tested. For example, conjugations could really benefit from a step by step walk through of the basic conjugation patterns. I feel like the developers are worried about making users think too much. But in the case of learning a language, I wouldn’t mind getting the foundations right before adding complexity.

I’ve heard about this service and immediately wanted to learn widely known languages but after getting the app it wouldn’t let me sign up... I entered everything I needed to but once I went to the select country part nothing came up. I even put my country in the search bar and bother showed up for about 5 minutes till I gave up. Fix it please.

  • Crappy app holds it back

On an iPad Air 2 updated etc w German: 1. I have to literally delete and reinstall the app every morning. Idk why but otherwise it’s stuck on the first loading screen or gives a no network error. There is a working network 2. Voice recognition is generally silly. U can say random words or noises and get 100% on pronunciation. Sometimes it gets stuck and it doesn’t recognize anything as right. Then I can just say anything, and as long as I go “mmmmmm word”- it takes it as perfect. 3. Frequently unresponsive and laggy. And slow. 4. Rosetta Stone itself is great! 5. The ~$20 per month subscription is about right considering this sketchy app. Not horrible but should be a lot better. Content is excellent but app holds back the package
