I don’t usually write reviews but I love this app. I have wanted to read so many more books but I didn’t feel like I had the time. I’ve been able to digest so much more information with Blinkist. Thank you to those who created it and contribute to it.
  • Pro version: Broken audio playback

I use only the audio playback, love it normally, but recently the app has been unusable. It is impossible to get the correct audio to play, since the track list contains 1-3 duplicates of each blink. Even when you get lucky and start with the correct track/audio, the audio playback will still get stuck indefinitely repeating a single track. For almost 100$ I expect the audio playback widget to work...
  • Looking for more Balance and less Bias

I love the idea of this app, but after two and a half months of reading the free books almost every day the unacknowledged bias present in the types of books offered and the ways that the summaries are written is getting old. Certain world views (which I imagine naturally mirror the creators/ writers own) are written about in incredibly positive lights, for example Eastern religion and philosophy with titles like “Why Buddhism is True” without a balanced (let alone positive) look at really any other spiritual or religious world views. I can’t say I blame them, it makes sense to me that people would naturally select books they like and agree with to offer in a service like this, but because of what the platform is, I feel like they need to find a way to be either more neutral or more honest about the bias they are bringing in to these summaries. Hire some people who don’t agree on the big questions of life - then offer books from a wider variety of world views and I think there is a 5 star idea here.
  • Political biased Content- Farrrr left!

I subscribed for the business books and as far as that goes I was pretty happy with the content but as I started browsing other categories I couldn’t believe how hard the liberal-progressive movement is pushed through this app. What am I supposed to listen to once I’m through all the business books? Come on Blinkist, give us a variety.....
  • Great to occupy your time if you are waiting.

I love this app because I have difficulty reading and get impatient trying to comprehend several pages of text because of my learning disability. It is great to be able to read a novel and probably get more out of it than spending hours trying to wade through the book only retaining a little bit of it. It is a great app to use to take your mind of of anxiety provoking situations like flying or waiting for a doctor or dentist appointment. It is much better for you to help get a handle on anxiety than taking benzodiazepines, safer and healthier.
  • Summaries are poor

The app, size of library and rate that summaries are added are all positive features of this offering. Unfortunately, the critical element, namely the summaries, do not make the grade. There are a few books that I have read cover to cover that are summarised on Blinkist. The summaries do not do the book justice: It seems as if in the interest of aiming to have all summaries fit one size, key concepts are missed and in many instances the summaries are just too short. The summaries also tend to miss the soul of the book, which is partly understandable. I will not be renewing my subscription. I'd rather search for other more meaningful summaries elsewhere on the web for books I'm really interested in.
  • Free daily book summaries

I have enjoyed the free daily book summaries. I can make time for 1 book a day and the books are current and popular.

Advertised as a free app. Once they have collected your demographic data they say “by the way Bro, $80 a year subscription. Would you like to give up approval to hill you and enjoy your free week?” No idea if the service is worth the fee. I don't give random people who aren't straight with me from the onset access to my account to find out if They are worth it.
