Im getting so sick of having to practice every second. I like the levels of difficulty, but if you mess up 5 times you have to go practice in order to earn your health back. It’s obnoxious that every second I have to practice to gain back health. Especially because what I am practicing is all of the skills instead of what I am working on. If I go back to the basics, and have to practice to gain back health it will start asking about nature and ridicules skills that I haven’t touched in forever because I’m trying to solidify upper level basics again. The old way was better. Make it so we have to option to practice but it’s not a requirement. Start over the lesson of we mess up 5 times, but so we don’t have to go do 5 practice sessions to bring back the health.

It works so well and it is so fun ai have had this app for about a week or 2 and I know more than everyone else in my Spanish class at school the only reason this is a 4 is because there is no reason to keep a streak I should give you more lingots or something but besides that it is wonderful and a 5
  • Learning as a game

Duolingo started with a good idea of making learning more fun by turning it into a game. Fair and square. However, recent iterations of this app have leaned too heavily on game related techniques to generate revenue using ads, purposely impede progress unless user pay. It’s “current” rating of almost 5 out of 5 is no longer reflective of current app.
  • Okay, but...

This app okay, but Duolingo is much better on the website...even when you use the website on your phone. You get much more detailed explanations of what you’re learning, it’s more user friendly and has way more features. Some of the stuff on the app doesn’t even coincide with the website. In my opinion, until the Duolingo app resembles the website, I’d just use the website. The app needs to be more like the website and it needs to give you more information about what you’re learning (especially grammar). Oh and more bonus skills would be cool!
  • Latest update is pretty great, with one exception

I’ve used Duolingo since its inception. It’s always been wonderful. I still love it. The latest update has improved a lot of issues I recently had. The crowns are great and provide plenty of motivation to learn more.

  • New update

    By 'Smodnamsommssxm,
The new update with the crowns is beyond annoying . I was more than half way done all the lessons and now I have to start all over again . So instead of learning how to make conversation , grammar or new phrases I'm stuck doing "I drink water , you drink water , they drink water , we drink water" for hours . I used to love this app and now every time I use it I just get aggravated .
  • Not a fan of crowns

I no longer can see the words in the lesson and know which skills are becoming weak
