  • Daily Calms out of the can

I’ve been using Calm for almost 3 years now on an almost daily basis. I think it did help me with a lot of issues and I do begin to notice benefits from using it in my life. The reason why I’m only giving 4 stars is that the „Daily Calm” sessions, something I used to look forward to, have been simple replays of previous sessions for a while now. That’s annoying, especially since they let you save your favorite sessions. So it happened to me a couple of times now that I played one of my favorite sessions and then the following day I listen to the exact same thing as a “daily Calm” because it’s being replayed. I think the daily sessions should be new, otherwise I feel a little fooled. Other than that I really like it.

I love this app and have been using is consistently for the pas two years. I renewed my subscription but was so disappointed to find that many of the things I use (deep sleep to name one) were not a part of my renewal fee this time. As a user that raves about this app, I felt let down that I had no warning or heads up about the subscription changes.

The price is ridiculous and it is glitchy.

I downloaded this app with the intentions of trying it out, it ended up charging me a whole year of subscription just for downloading the app. Very deceitful and will not be using this app anymore.
  • Wonderful meditation sounds and music, but now very limited to non-paying members

I use the thunderstorm sound on the free version of this app every night to help me fall asleep. I used to use the body scans, but Calm recently locked those out to non-subscribing members, which is very disappointing because I can’t afford to pay for the app and the body scans were extremely soothing. I’ll be using a different app now for body scans. That being said, if you can afford this app, I recommend it, but for those of us who can’t, all of the nature sounds and meditation music is still free, along with a (now much smaller) collection of free meditations

I can’t say enough about how amazing this app is. I thought it was perfect and then the recent update made it even better. It’s intuitive, it’s organized, it’s thoughtful. Mindfulness was a surprisingly overwhelming scary concept to me. I was afraid I’d do it wrong, and I also lacked the discipline to do it daily because of this phobia. The app helps ease that fear / intimidation by offering lots of different types of meditative practices and really allows you to curate your own approach to mindfulness. Need help sleeping? There’s a series. Want to work on anxiety or forgiveness? There are series for all sorts of different human scenarios + regular breathing meditation, timed meditation, body scan exercises: the list goes on. And the interface is gorgeous. Imagine every sort of calming, nature inspired theme you can think of. Add natural sound effects. Maybe a few bells or bowls, flutes, and other meditation inspired music makers. It’s absolutely stunning. But the most impressive part of this app? 75% of it — classes, music, themes, meditations, guided series — is FREE. That’s right. You can have a expensive feeling, curated meditation class daily, on your phone FOR FREE. Of course, if you want even more of this, you can pay & honestly, I’m m considering it for the summer. Imagine going on vacation, sitting on the train, or even during family time (they have a section for kids), being able to do anything from a 3 minute quick mediation to a 1 hour long body scan, right from your phone? I’ve added this to my new ✨glow up✨ app package lol down dog(basically this app for yoga), Meditapes(another cool way to meditate), class pass (free 1 week trial to the best Pilates studios all over bk) and a few others to help me develop a mindfulness approach to every aspect do my life. And this app inspired it all.
