  • The Echo Is Great but the Alexa App Is a JOKE

    By OtterGirl
How can Amazon make such an incredible, easy-to-use device in the Echo but completely miss the mark with the app that provides 50% of the device’s utility? I’ve never been so frustrated that I wanted to leave a review like this before, but the Alexa app finally broke me. This is the slowest, most broken app I’ve ever used. If I didn’t need for so much of the functionality of my Echo, I would have deleted it a long time ago. Using the shopping lists (a major reason we got an Echo in the first place) is a nightmare. I’ve ended up just snapping photos of the lists in the app before I go to the store instead of trying to use the app outside my home. Now, I can’t even get the stupid thing to work at home. Sure, he skills page loads right up, but my lists idle on a white screen indefinitely. Amazon, a bunch of simple text and checkboxes should not be this hard. Your app has become virtually useless. We use and love so many of your products and services. Please don’t let your loyal customers down and fix this useless piece of garbage!
  • Too many crashes!

    By Gary11350
This app worked fine for the first couple weeks I had it. Now it crashes constantly and my wife used to like using the Shopping list but it crashes in seconds. Please fix this ASAP! Lots of money invested here and Alexa deserves better .
  • Awful

    By DJRoodz
Interface is slow and glitchy. Can't turn on an alarm without immense frustration. Absolutely awful, especially for a company that touts user friendliness the way Amazon does.
  • Great but wish

    By Ahhhhhhhhghhhhhhhhhhhh
I love the Alexa dot and the app is really great for the lists that help keep my day to day organized. However I wish the app ran better and I wish you could have Alexa do more in routines like play music or tell you the time.
  • Pls update for iPhone X

    By spotifypls
This app is buggy and looks like **** on the iPhone X. Pls fix.
  • The most recent update made Alexa worse!

    By firebirdkeys
At this point, the only way we can listen to music through third-party apps is via Bluetooth. What’s the point of having Alexa if I could have the same level of performance from a Bluetooth speaker?
  • Religious Discrimination

    By Bonnies biggest fan
Religious discrimination to Christians, Muslims, Hindus, ect.

    By Nnnnnniiiiiiiccccccckkkkkyyyy
Pissing me off and super glitchy, complicated, and annoying.
  • Do not use for grocery list

    By Maciel117
I love the fact I can add items in my grocery list by voice. However, there are some major flaws with this app. First, when you open this app at the grocery store, when you need it the most, it takes forever to load (if it loads at all). Second; when you add item by voice Alexa you have to add one at a time. Alexa at this point does not have the capability to separate items in your grocery list. If you say “milk, bread and eggs” it adds all of those into your list as one item instead of three.
  • Work well

I have had very few problems with Echo Dot and Alexa App on my iPhone 8 Plus. I have never had it crash. Alexa handles my request just fine. She doesn’t always get my music request right, but I have learned it how you say things that make a difference. I have iHome Plugs all over my house and I use groups to control several of them at a time or use the unique name for them to control ind plugs. SiriusXM, Pandora, TuneIn and Amazon Music all work well. I kind of agree with the older lady that said so many whiny people.
